Event Details - Faculty Saxophone Recital

Aaron M. Durst presents a faculty saxophone recital with local guest musicians.  Featured in this recital are two recent works for saxophone and piano, “Sonatina” by Denis Bédard and “Brazilian Landscapes No. 21” by Liduino Pitombeira performed with Amanda Durst. Composers Jay Batzner and Jerry Hui each provide new works for vocalist and saxophone, performed with Hui. The Cedar Valley Brass will also join, performing “Concerto da Camera” by Fisher Tull for alto saxophone and brass quintet.  A multimedia work for alto saxophone by Jacob ter Veldhuis entitled “Billie” featuring spoken text by Billie Holiday will also be included.

 This recital will be in the  Great Hall of the Memorial Student Center and is free and open to the public.
