The UW-Stout
Symphonic Band will present its annual Winter Concert “Many Moods of Winter” on
Sunday, December 4, 2016, at 2 p.m. in the UW-Stout Memorial
Student Center Great Hall under the direction of Dr. Aaron M. Durst. Experience the many moods of winter with selections
like Snowflakes Dancing by Andrew
Boysen Jr. to capture the excitement of a fresh snowfall, Footsteps by Dana Wilson to feel like wading through the deep snow,
Italian Wedding Song by James Barnes to
invoke the comfort of watching a classic movie like “The Godfather” and drinking
hot chocolate, and Sleep by Eric
Whitacre, where at the end of a long winter day, sleep is the best thing to
do. Traditional holiday music selections
will also be included in the concert, in addition to two pieces performed by
the Tower Saxophone Quartet.
The $5
tickets are available at the UW-Stout Service Center in the Memorial Student
Center, 715-232-1122, online at
www.uwstout.universitytickets.com, and at the door.
