Join the student
musicians of the Blue Devil Jazz Orchestra as they perform from the stage in
the Great Hall under the direction of Dr. Aaron M. Durst. Selections to be featured include “I Mean You”
by Thelonious Monk and Coleman Hawkins, “Mambo Italiano” sung by Meg Erickson, “Tonight,
We Tango” with Matt Bentley on tenor saxophone and William Le on accordion, “Cheek
to Cheek” sung by Sam Poncelet, and a Beatles favorite “Something” featuring alto
saxophonist Lukas Medin. Joining in the performance will be the Troppo
Big Band from Chippewa Falls. Both
groups will present an evening of music in a variety of jazz styles to appeal
to listeners of jazz from every era.
The concert will be at the Great Hall of the Memorial Student Center. Tickets are $5 and are available online at tickets.uwstout.edu, at the
Service Center in the Memorial Student Center, 715-232-1122, and at the door.
